Starlight Daughter

Starlight daughter

seeing you then was a dance on laughing water

Moonlight lover

knowing you then was a sigh

of a clear and higher truth

We sailed so free

Misty morning

dawn was late and I never did heed the warning

Armed shadow

rays and steel and I cried

as I felt your sad glow fade

We sailed apart

So tell me, how have you been

fighting the shadows of night?

Me, I saw where they took you

and you must have followed my flight for you

Lovely sister

sailing again on the waves of this laughing river

Sister, sister

you caught a star in your heart

with the wish to set her free

to sail and be

Laughing water

carry our love with the strength with which I sought her

Water, water

grace our joy with the gift

of a smiling daughter fair

Let souls fly free
