Riding

Free as a wind in my mind

and the sky that I find

in the laughter I hear

brings a new morning

Blue with the velvet of night

is the sight I let go

as I open my eyes

on a bright dawning

Still, every step I take

is another step away

I wonder what to make

of all the things I see

to fill my day

to fill my day

Here among these distant lands I roam

over far and wide

and in and out of shadow

For all the light upon the road I chose

Still, in all

Oh, that I were home

Oh, that I were home

Oh, that I were home

Stars are the guides that I see

as I sail on my own

for my destiny

‘cross this deep ocean

Dreams are the goals I pursue

in a world as real

as I want it to

where I knew someone

Yet, every tack I take

is another tack away

and I wonder what to make

of all the things I made

to fill my day

to fill my day

for these voices

‘long the way

cast a shadow

as I pray

Oh, that I were home

Oh, that I were home

Oh, that I were home
